My research in physics and physical oceanography
I'm currently working on broadening my background in all areas of theoretical physics, including interpretations of quantum mechanics, particle physics, relativistic quantum mechanics, and quantum field theory. I'm especially interested in developing clear presentations of theoretical physics and helpful teaching materials.
Since 2010 I have been studying general relativity. I wrote a solution manual to Bernard Schutz's introductory textbook. I've also worked on clarifying the presentation of gravitational time dilation, and the visualization of curved spacetime.
I have worked on many aspects of the ocean circulation, from microscale turbulence to the maintenance of the global scale general circulation. I used theory, numerical modelling, and almost all data types (satellite, moored and drifting in situ measurements).
